| McCain is one of the most respected members of Congress, particularly for his military record, and there's no evidence he gave up any valuable information to his captors during the Vietnam War.
It is true that after being tortured, McCain signed a confession that labeled him a "black criminal" and an "air pirate," which is something the Arizona senator has expressed shame over, but he is still widely viewed as a hero for his conduct while held captive for half a decade in a North Vietnamese prison.

American Crime Story Staffel)! ♥
Interessant:
| This spring, Giuliani met with Mueller and his staff, and Giuliani pressed the special counsel about whether he believed that a sitting President could be criminally indicted. According to a 1973 opinion from the Office of Legal Counsel, a President should not be subject to indictment while in office because it “would interfere with the President’s unique official duties, most of which cannot be performed by anyone else.” (A 2000 legal opinion from the Justice Department reached a similar conclusion.) Giuliani recalled Mueller saying, “Well, we’re going to reserve our thinking on that.” Giuliani told me that after “two days, with a lot of going back and forth,” Mueller’s team affirmed that it wouldn’t indict, regardless of the result of the investigation. (Mueller’s spokesman declined to comment.) | |

Anklage =! Amtsenthebungsverfahren (Impeachment).

Eigentlich sollte sich Steve Bannon beim "New Yorker"-Festival interviewen lassen. Fanden die anderen Gäste nicht so gut.
| Stephen K. Bannon, President Trump’s former chief strategist, will no longer appear as a headliner at this year’s New Yorker Festival, David Remnick, the editor of The New Yorker, announced in an email to the magazine’s staff on Monday evening.
The announcement followed several scathing rebukes and high-profile dropouts after the festival’s lineup, with Mr. Bannon featured, was announced. Within 30 minutes of one another, John Mulaney, Judd Apatow, Jack Antonoff and Jim Carrey said on social media that they would be pulling out of scheduled events at the festival.

Kleiner Nachtrag zum Bloomberg-Interview:
"A tiny period of time with a bullhorn" war Bush nach 9/11. Nur ne Woche ist natürlich auch Blödsinn. Eigentlich ist der komplette Absatz BS.
| In-party poll numbers:
G.W. Bush: 99% GOP approval
G H.W. Bush: 95%
Eisenhower: 95%
Reagan: 94%
Nixon: 91%
Trump: 90% | |
