Hab seine Rede verpasst. Aber gab wohl auch nichts Neues.
| Same old shite from Johnson as usual
Highlights include
-preemptively blaming no deal on MPs voting against government tomorrow
-turning any opposition against 'no deal' into "cancelling the referendum"
-same old "leaving, no ifs no buts"
-Showing he doesn't want an election
Lots of boos audible. > | |

EU is why we can't have imperial things!

| 1) Legislation via Amendment Legislative Fuckery
MPs will seek to wrest control of the agenda in Parliament through the use of standing order 24, which basically says that if there is an emergency issue that is not on the HoC agenda, that an MP can try and state their case that it should be on the agenda at the next available opportunity - in this case probably the following day- if at least 40 members support it.
This is likely to follow a route where SO24 is used to force the HoC to consider The European Union (Withdrawal) (No. 6) Bill 2019 which is crafted by rebellious MPs to compel the PM to ask for another extension.
This route, while reminiscent of the earlier Cooper-Letwin bill this year, continues to rely on threading a multitude of difficult needles, any of which can effectively stop this plan at any stage. Votes are likely to pass with single digit majorities, but thats fun to come. Today is solely about getting the first foot on the road.
If it does fail, or the standing order is not moved for, then the government keeps control and we move to....
2) Vote of No Confidence
If the SO24 route fails then a VONC is back on the table. If passed, then under the Fixed Term Parliaments Act the currently sitting government has at least 14 days to try and shuffle itself around to regain the confidence of the house (remember, our clock is ticking...). If it manages to do so, we're still on track for ND Brexit. If not, then an alternative goverment needs to be formed; but the opposition are, to be polite, fractured with their own divisions that make such an alliance difficult at best.
If no government can be formed, then we're heading for a GE - but IIRC the date of the GE can be set by the outgoing government, who may well choose to do this after we exit on the 31st of October, making it redundant for the purpose of avoiding NDB.
3) Snap GE
Alternatively, Boris can try and call a snap GE to try and shore up support. Time is short however and while the Tories are ahead in the polls, there is a large depth of feeling about the prorogation that might see this as a fait accompli. > | |

Haha...

UK so:
Wann knickt die EU eigentlich endlich ein? 31.10. erst?
