The occupiers began to sabotage the orders of officers more often, especially when it comes to the offensive, - General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
“The Russian occupiers are suffering losses, are demoralized and are looking for any opportunity to avoid hostilities - they are trying to simulate a slight injury, resort to self-mutilation and various simulations. An increase in the facts of sabotage of the orders of officers is recorded, especially when it comes to offensive actions,” the General Staff said.

| New animated map tracking the progress of Russia's ongoing effort to generate "volunteer" units for Russia's war in Ukraine.
This map shows the units @KatStepanenko and I have been tracking for @TheStudyofWar since July.
Some thoughts on this force generation effort below.🧵
The Kremlin is scrambling to find any reinforcements to maintain its prolonged war in Ukraine, but these efforts are unlikely to generate combat ready or cohesive force necessary for the Kremlin’s goal of seizing all of Ukraine. ...
Russian reservists and members of “volunteer” units are reporting that Russian authorities have failed to deliver on promised benefits and pay.
Russian authorities have reportedly placed recruits with no experience into positions as commanding officers at the company level or higher, failed to provide sufficient food, ammunition, or cigarettes to soldiers, failed to provide for the funeral arrangements of volunteer soldiers killed in action, and dumped soldiers in remote locations in Russia without transport home once their contracts expired. Several volunteers who have already returned home from Ukraine stated that they felt “deceived” and treated worse than regular contract soldiers.
VK-based milblogger Vasily Petrovich described regionally formed volunteer units as the best way to ”get into a hospital bed or into the grave,” as these units do not have financial support outside of what is provided by their unnamed sponsors.

4/ RUS Luftlage: RUS Luftherrschaft z. Hier v.a. Close Air Support.

| A war that the world has not seen for a long time...
Russia's war against Ukraine seems to many people to be local and not too big on a global scale. But if we compare it with World Wars І and II, then in terms of the level of destruction of artillery, Russia is not inferior to the artillery of the USSR in 1941-1942.
If you divide it by the length of the front line, then the destruction caused by Russian artillery is comparable to the scale of the destruction of Hitler's army in 1941-1944.
We see one of the most destructive wars right now. And it is difficult to call it a local conflict.
How long will Russia be able to feed this beast?
According to Novaya Gazeta, Russia had 15 million artillery shells at the beginning of the war.
Also, Russia can produce another 1 million shells per year and restore 0.5 million old Soviet shells
According to my calculations, this will be enough for about 11 months.
But from November to April, Russia will certainly experience logistics problems due to bad roads.
Most likely, Russia will not experience an acute shortage of shells until next summer-autumn.
Maybe the artillery will exhaust its resource earlier?
It is difficult to say what wear Russian artillery had at the beginning of the war. But most likely, the existing artillery + restored systems from warehouses will be enough to maintain intensive shelling for 12-24 months.
Trench warfare
If Ukraine does not have enough weapons, and Russia does not have enough soldiers to conduct large-scale offensive actions, the war may turn into trench warfare in the fall.
In trench warfare, the one with more artillery has the upper hand.
Long-term war
A war of attrition is not beneficial to Ukraine, nor to the US and its allies. Russia has sufficient reserves to conduct intensive military operations. Sanctions will catch up with Putin much later than the missiles and ammunition will run out.
How to prevent this?
To prevent a prolonged bloody war, one of these conditions must be present (preferably all 3):
a) Ukraine must have enough armored vehicles to conduct large-scale offensive operations
b) Ukraine must have enough artillery to conduct an effective counter-battery fight along the entire front line
c) Ukraine should have enough long-range weapons to hit logistics routes (bridges, railways), airbases, and warehouses deep in the rear
Armor
Ukraine received about 1,000 armored vehicles and 300+ tanks. This is essential, but not enough to form a large-scale strike group.
Afghanistan received 24,000 HUMVEE and 800 infantry fighting vehicles from the USA. Yes, these are very different wars, both in terms of duration and scale of actions. But I do not think that the goals of democracy in Ukraine are less than the goals in the East...
In addition, the equipment received by Ukraine is very different. In the short term, this is acceptable. But in a long-term war, you need to make a system of repair and maintenance of this equipment. And this is difficult to do with dozens of different systems.
Artillery
Ukraine received about 340 artillery systems. And this is also a lot, but it is much less than what Ukraine has already lost in this war. And Ukraine already has many different artillery systems supplied by allies. This is also a problem in the future (if not now)
The firepower of Ukrainian artillery dropped sharply in May. Now the soldiers often complain that the artillery does not have time in all directions and is often late.
HIMARS and M270 really play a big role. But they rather restrain the Russian army than destroy it.
Russia is forced to adapt to new conditions. Logistics becomes more difficult, and the consumption of shells is greater.
Ukraine needs powerful long-range missiles, such as ATAСMS. Which are capable of destroying fortified infrastructure facilities, air bases, and warehouses at a long distance. Then the Russian supply may come to a dead end.

| Dangerous stupidity is afoot. Some people just never learn. Crucial that Allies intervene with Berlin. The only correct direction of travel is to bring use of Russian gas to zero, and then to rip out both NS1 and NS2 and turn them into scrap metal. There must be no going back. | |
Spiegel-Redakteur:
https://twitter.com/mathieuvonrohr/status/1559534128462282752
Wishful thinking. | |
https://twitter.com/NikolausBlome/status/1559551315759562752
https://twitter.com/ConStelz/status/1559552829366353920
| Dann gibt’s 2 Optionen:
In beiden Fällen: Debakel.
https://twitter.com/FillingTheCrack/status/1560523382835265538
Was dann?

Western intelligence official: 'The real story is about (Russia's) Black Sea Fleet. They've lost their flagship Moskva, they lost Snake Island, they lost half of their naval aviation package and their military headquarters was struck.' 'What we are seeing now is (Russia's) Black Sea Fleet taking a very defensive position, trying to avoid getting in the line of fire. This is a proud fleet with a long history. The credibility of that entity has been diminished.'
Western intelligence official on recent explosions in Russia/Crimea/Russian-occupied territory 'I think we can assume attacks by Ukrainians behind enemy lines.' Targets such as Belgorod (in Russia) 'are legitimate targets which don’t risk Russian territorial integrity.' 'I don’t see [explosions/attacks behind Russian lines] diminishing. I think we’ve seen an uptick of those events.' Western intelligence official puts attacks by Ukraine down to a 'combination of incredibly brave people and new capabilities.'

Heißt also, Putin ja, aber Krieg nein.

was war da eigentlich heute los?
