| |
Hier in den US of Awesome ist der Preis um irgendwo zwischen 50 und 100% gestiegen seit einem externen tief während(?) Corona.

| Every farmers' worst nightmare is coming to pass.
The mass culling of healthy animals because there simply aren't enough butchers to process them and get them off farms.
It's the largest culling of healthy pigs in the history of British farming. So how did we get here?

Was labert ihr, englisches Frühstück ist bestes Frühstück.
| |

Cosplaying PM puts his police hat on as Tories get tough (again) on drugs
| The excuse for Boris’s dressing up was the launch of the government’s new policing and drugs strategy, an occasion that he chose to mark by joining the Merseyside police on a dawn drug raid. Having for once, remarkably enough, appeared not to have got in the way – presumably he was kept out of range of the main action – Johnson gave a brief pool clip for the broadcasters.
Drugs were a bad, bad thing. Something no other government had ever dared say before, he added. Which was odd. As it’s precisely the sort of thing politicians have been saying over and over again for as long as most of us can remember. ...
Over on Radio 4’s Today programme, the shadow home secretary, Yvette Cooper, had observed that all the government had really done was to reinstate the financing for programmes that David Cameron and Theresa May’s administrations had cut. Bertie Booster was outraged. The very idea that he might have had anything to do with the Conservatives over the past 11 years was totally unthinkable. In BorisWorld time only started in 2019. | | | > Merseyside Police says that nobody was arrested at this raid that the PM attended. | | | > Looking again the house may be unoccupied. In any case, @BorisJohnson, who in the past used his platform as a right wing hack to attack the people of Liverpool, now as PM, uses the city and @MerseyPolice for no more than a very expensive Tory PR stunt.

Brexit: ‘the biggest disaster any government has ever negotiated’ >
| Exclusive: British cheesemaker says Brexit and subsequent trade deals have cost his firm £270,000
...
Spurrell said he had pursued new business in Norway and Canada but post-Brexit trade deals sealed by the government had put barriers in place.
“We no longer have any ability to deal with the EU as our three distributors in Germany, France and Italy have said we have become too expensive because of the new checks and paperwork.
“And now we’ve also lost Norway since the trade deal, as duty for wholesale is 273%. Then we tried Canada but what the government didn’t tell us is that duty of 244% is applied on any consignment over $20 [£15].”
That meant Canadian customers who ordered a gift pack worth £50, including transport fees, were asked to pay £178 extra in duty when the courier arrived at their door, Spurrell said. “As you can imagine, customers were saying: ‘You can take that back, we don’t want it anymore’.”
Norwegian duty on a £30 cheese pack amounted to £190 extra, he said.
Spurrell is now pursuing the domestic market with greater vigour but says the cost of marketing has gone “through the roof” because all his competitors are having to do the same.
“Before we could sell across the EU, now we are all fishing in the same pond. We used to be the biggest online sellers but now we are absolutely bombarded with attacks by all our cheese rivals because they are buying all the ads on Google to try to beat us. These are competitors who would never have bothered us before,” he said.

Pikachu?
WTF, man.
