I know that problem. Posting in english is not so much harder than in german (except my vocabulary is pretty small... i never learned that strictly), but speaking is.
While speaking there is no second chance, no backspace. Said words are said and there's no way to make them unheard. Putting together full and good sentences in spoken words is very hard for me.
/e: And most important: There's no dict.leo.org while speaking.
| |
Indeed...
That was one of the major issues I had to deal with when I came to Scotland. Back then I haven't really used English in a good 2 years, so I forgot a lot of my vocab.
Took me a while to get the hang of it again

I am improving my skills with watching lost, heroes, grey's anatomy and simpsons in english. Unfortunately i still need english subtitles. 'cause of Whispering, dialects, and medicine vocabulary and stuff.
btw: <3 dict.leo.org
| |
I can't stand watching films or series with subtitles. I just makes me reading all the time and at the end I did get nothing of the content.
I allways watch DVDs and ripped series in english which helps a lot, even there are words I don't understand. A whole sentence most time is enough to compensate a missing word.

You should shut down the mysql-server process before copying. Else you could get crippled data.

The problem is: Withouth english knowledge nobody wants you, even if your job has nothing to do with english speaking and even there are no customers from foreign countrys...
And as a Nerd english should be your mothers language.
/e: hehe, deppenapostroph D: | |
But I must admit, that reading and hearing english is much easier than speaking and writing it. Writing this post took me much longer than an german posting would have
| |
Full Ack.
I've hardly any problems in unterstanding english language, but writing or speaking it? No way!
/edit Would be nice, if someone could correct my mistakes :>

Well, I dont think that you really have to put that "got" in there. But I'll look that up.
